Record Store Day 2014

As always, we couldn’t be more excited for Record Store Day next month. We have five great releases in store for you this year:

Sun Records: Curated by Record Store Day, Volume 1

We’ve partnered with the fine folks at Record Store Day to bring you this compilation LP, curated from the classic Sun Records catalog by independent record stores.  Their song selections have been remastered and pressed on vinyl, which comes in an inner-sleeve designed by our friends at Tito’s Handmade Vodka. It features songs from artists like Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, and Howlin Wolf.  As a Record Store Day 2014 Exclusive, it is limited to 4,000 copies worldwide.

Johnny Cash With His Hot and Blue Guitar

The debut album from the Man in Black himself. Released in 1957, it was the first LP ever issued on Sam Phillips’ Sun Records label. Currently out of print, we have remastered and pressed this gem on an exclusive blue color vinyl for Record Store Day. This limited edition pressing of 3,000 copies will be numbered with a gold foil stamp on each jacket.

Dot Hacker Whatever You Want b/w Memory 7″

We’re very excited to share the first new music from Dot Hacker since their 2012 debut album, Inhibition. The 7″ features two songs from their upcoming album, due out later in 2014. Available internationally, this pressing is limited to 1,000 copies.

Il Sogno Del Marinaio Mud Puddle b/w We Come To Learn

Mike Watt is back with Italian musicians Andrea Belfi and Stefano Pilia with their band, Il Sogno Del Marinaio. The two songs were recorded in Italy during the same session as their upcoming album, also due out later this year. This Record Store Day exclusive 7″ is pressed on “mud puddle” brown color vinyl,  and is limited to 1,200 copies worldwide.

Sun Ra Outer Spaceways Incorporated

Sun Ra’s Arkestra was at its most radical during this period, alternating simple chants with very outside playing and dense ensembles. Outer Spaceways Incoporated (aka Pictures of Infinity) has now been remastered and pressed on vinyl for the first time in over three decades. This exclusive Record Store Day pressing features a white and purple psychedelic color LP, and is limited to 1,500 copies worldwide.
